I Want To Participate As...

  • Retreatant
A S.E.E.D. retreatant is any youth in the 1st – 12th grade who desires to nurture their relationship with God, with their families and with other retreatants. By attending S.E.E.D. Retreat, retreatants have the opportunity to discover God, build new relationships, and rekindle old ones with their friends and family through talks and fun activities.

Retreatants must attend S.E.E.D. retreat with a Parent or Guardian over the age of 25. For more information on S.E.E.D. retreat, please follow the link

If you feel called to attend S.E.E.D. Retreat, talk to your parents and show them this site or have them talk to a Center Organizer, Regional Coordinator, or National Chair. Follow this link for their contact information

  • Parent
Parents serve as a source of encouragement for their families to participate in S.E.E.D. Retreat. By participating in S.E.E.D. Retreat, parents and their families have an opportunity to deepen their relationships with God and each other. Throughout the course of S.E.E.D. Retreat, parents will be able to meet with other parents and share in experiences through talks in the Parent Track. Additionally, parents must attend S.E.E.D. retreat alongside their children as all retreatants must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

If you are interested in signing up for S.E.E.D., please contact the Regional Coordinator and/or Center Organizer near you.

  • Organizer
Organizers play an important role in coordinating S.E.E.D. Retreat, working with S.E.E.D. Leaders, and communicating with parents.

The following are some responsibilities of an organizer:
Serving as bridge between parents and S.E.E.D. leaders.
Assisting in the retreat registration process.
Working with S.E.E.D. leaders on retreat logistics (i.e. retreat center details, number of participants).
Serving as a liaison between retreat site management and S.E.E.D. leaders and families (i.e. booking site, accommodations).
Coordinating schedules with S.E.E.D. leaders and addressing concerns that may arise during the course of the retreat

As an organizer, your support is vital in helping S.E.E.D. retreat run smoothly and allowing S.E.E.D. Leaders to focus their efforts on the children and the content of the retreat. If you find yourself called towards giving to S.E.E.D. Ministry through these means, we highly encourage you to serve as an organizer. Please contact the Center Organizer nearest to you.

  • Leader
Leaders serve as a guide for S.E.E.D. retreatants to develop their relationship with God, with their families, and with other retreatants. A Leader’s mission is to provide an open and nurturing environment for the retreatant to find God through talks and fun activities. S.E.E.D. Retreat is unique where most of the retreat planning is actually done by the leaders and not a priest. A leader will work on a team comprised of 9-12 other leaders to plan a 3 day retreat. The planning process takes about 10 weeks during late spring and early summer.

There are 3 requirements that must be met in order to become a S.E.E.D. leader:
Attend SEED Source formation and training workshop every 2 years
    Child Safety Training
    Attend an annual Ignatian Retreat

If you feel called to serve S.E.E.D. retreat as a leader, you can contact the Regional Coordinator and/or Center Organizer near you.
